Why this runs in your browser
Every step happens locally using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no queue, no size quota tied to a server, and no copy of your document sitting in someone else’s storage.
Frequently asked questions
Why does metadata matter?
PDFs often carry the author name, the software used, and creation timestamps. That information travels with the file when you email it, which is not always what you want.
Can every field be removed?
Almost. Title, author, subject, keywords and creator are all cleared. The *Producer* field is rewritten by the PDF library on save and cannot be blanked — the tool shows you its value rather than pretending otherwise.
Is my file uploaded to check its metadata?
No. Reading and rewriting both happen in your browser.
